Susan Koss has over 25 years of consulting experience specializing in litigation support, business valuation, and forensic accounting services. She has extensive experience serving as an expert witness and consulting expert in matters involving the quantification of economic damages, including breach of contract disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, employment matters, product recalls, warranty claims, and other commercial litigation issues.
Susan has performed numerous business valuations for estate and gift tax planning, marital dissolution proceedings, shareholder transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. She has also conducted complex financial analyses for business turnaround, restructuring, insolvency, and workout engagements, assisting clients in addressing financial and operational challenges.
Prior to joining Province, Susan served as Divisional Controller for a software company where she worked closely with senior management to develop solutions to complex financial and operational issues. Her responsibilities included oversight of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and day-to-day operational functions. Earlier in her career, Susan gained valuable experience in both the automotive and public accounting industries, providing her with a strong foundation in financial analysis, reporting, and business operations that enhances her work in litigation, valuation, and advisory engagements.
Susan is a member of Oakland University’s Accounting and Finance Advisory Board. She is also a member of Oakland University’s School of Business Strategic Planning Committee and an advisory member of the Career and Technical Education Team for Rochester Community Schools. She is a current member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), AICPA and NACVA. She is also a member of the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for the MICPA. In 2018, Susan was a recipient of Crain’s Detroit Business’ Notable Women in Finance Award. She is a frequent judge for the M&A Advisor awards. Susan was named one of the Top Women in Asset-Based Lending as a Strategic Advisor for the ABF Journal in the first quarter of 2021. She was recognized by DBusiness Magazine as a member of the 2021 Class of Powered by Women. Susan also received the 2021 Experienced Leader of the Women to Watch Award by the AICPA and MICPA. Most recently she was nationally recognized by Global M&A Network’s Woman Dealmaker in 2025.
