Courtney Betty brings a robust background in private equity, investment banking, and strategic advisory, with expertise in large-scale financial modeling, investment management, and M&A advisory. Prior to joining Province, Courtney served as an Associate in Direct Private Equity at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), focusing on sectors such as Industrials and Business Services. In this role, he led rigorous due diligence efforts and developed complex financial models for high-value, billion-dollar investment opportunities, supporting significant deals and impactful portfolio management initiatives.
Before CPPIB, Courtney was with CIBC Capital Markets in their Global Investment Banking team, advising major private equity funds and institutional investors on transformative M&A and IPO transactions. Known for his analytical rigor and leadership, Courtney has also been involved in entrepreneurial ventures, providing strategic and financial guidance to early-stage businesses.
Courtney holds both an MBA and an Honors Business Administration (HBA) degree from Ivey Business School, where he graduated with Distinction and received several academic awards. He is also a CFA Charterholder. Outside of work, Courtney is an active mentor with the YMCA of Greater Toronto Area Black Achievers Program and enjoys basketball, travel, and literature.
