Bernie Murphy

Bernie Murphy is a Partner and co-founder of the Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors practice at Province. He has more than 32 years of experience in the professional services industry and is considered one of the restructuring industry’s thought leaders on corporate wind downs and distressed company matters.

Mr. Murphy has deep relationships in the venture, legal and lending communities and has managed more than 750 of their distressed situations, including more than 450 sale transactions of distressed companies and assets.

He previously held executive positions at both private and public companies in the finance and accounting areas and assisted with the capital raise of more than $290 million for a public company that consummated more than 20 acquisitions. 

Mr. Murphy also spent more than 8 years at Arthur Andersen where he worked with many early-stage venture and private equity-backed companies, including companies going through the initial public offering process.
