Nathan Smith: promoted to Managing Director

Nathan is being promoted to Managing Director in recognition of his expertise, leadership, and impact on the firm. He is widely regarded as one of the firm’s most valuable contributors, including becoming part of the cross-firm Province Applied Intelligence Lab team. Nathan demonstrates Actionable Excellence through the quality and consistency of his work, and Deep Relationships through the trust and credibility he has built.

Corey Baird: promoted to Senior Director

Corey is being promoted to Senior Director in recognition of his leadership on complex, high stakes engagements. On one such engagement, he is directing a large, multi-office team and working closely with counsel, bringing deep expertise in complex financing structures and translating technical findings into clear, actionable insights. Corey demonstrates Relentless Client Focus through his day-to-day partnership with clients and counsel, and Actionable Excellence through his ability to drive strategy and deliver under pressure.

Joseph Berman: promoted to Senior Director

Joseph is being promoted to Senior Director in recognition for his strong impact through his client work and long-term relationship building. Over his tenure, he has proactively developed a network of industry peers that are now generating referral work for the firm. Joseph demonstrates Deep Relationships through his ability to build and convert connections into meaningful opportunities, and Actionable Excellence through his continued focus on delivering value to clients. Joseph has also contributed to integration with our colleagues at StoneTurn, facilitating cross-firm introductions and business development opportunities.

Hughes Congleton: promoted to Director

Hughes’ promotion to Director is a testament to his unwavering commitment to Excellence in Action and his selfless dedication to the team’s success. He has consistently demonstrated poise under pressure across several recent high-stakes cases, where his client-first approach sets the bar for our group in building strong new relationships and enhancing existing ones. His investment in mentoring junior talent has yielded tangible improvements, demonstrating his commitment to Empowering Talent, and elevating the quality of our work product.

Andrew Popescu: promoted to Director

Andrew is being promoted to Director in recognition of the impact he’s had across client work, team leadership, and talent development. He is trusted to lead complex matters, exercise exceptional judgment, and bring a high level of organization to the many moving pieces driving successful execution. Andrew’s leadership in the internship and junior training programs has elevated our firm’s junior professionals’ capabilities and strengthened their overall engagement with the firm. He fully embodies our core values of Actionable Excellence and Empowering Talent.

Alec Girdler: promoted to Vice President

Alec is being promoted to Vice President in recognition of the accomplishments and impact he has made across several of the firm’s largest matters. Alec has stepped into highly visible leadership roles, including serving as interim CFO for a University matter, where he led budgeting, supported negotiations and settlements, and provided decision-ready financial guidance to the Board. He has also driven complex analyses forward on tight timelines and led client-facing forensic work. Alec models Actionable Excellence through his leadership and execution, his ownership of critical client outcomes, and through his ability to lead teams and workstreams.

Mark Schlecker: promoted to Vice President

Mark is being promoted to Vice President in recognition of his impact since joining the firm and his consistent contributions across client work. He is viewed as proactive, strategic, and highly effective with clients, with the ability to lead work independently and contribute meaningful insights across engagements. Mark demonstrates Relentless Client Focus through strong client engagement and ownership, and Actionable Excellence through his analytical strength and sound judgment.

Colleen Flansaas: promoted to Trust Manager

Colleen is being promoted to Trust Manager in recognition of her continued growth, leadership, and contributions to the firm. Over her 10+ years with Province, she has consistently demonstrated our value of Deep Relationships, earning the trust of clients and colleagues through her collaboration, reliability, and commitment to delivering high quality work. Her relentless pursuit of knowledge and dedication to staying ahead of evolving case law and statutory changes have made her a trusted resource for the entire team, and she embodies our value of Empowering Talent by generously sharing her expertise, mentoring others, and helping her colleagues succeed. This promotion recognizes the leadership she already demonstrates and the exceptional value she brings to the Trust team every day.

Ryan Carr: promoted to Senior Associate

Ryan is being promoted to Senior Associate in recognition of his strong growth and readiness for expanded responsibility.
